Our on-board teachers come from top rank public schools and local community colleges. Through collaboration, communication and with a commitment to quality results, our teachers take an enthusiastic, innovative and entrepreneurial approach to education. 

Mr. Kozel is a UC Davis graduate with a major in Chemistry and is well-known with STC students for his Chemistry-teaching abilities; he is very familiar with all levels of high-school Chemistry as well as the AP/SAT 2 Chemistry Exams. Most years, he has a waiting list of students waiting to meet him. 

Mr. Parr is Cal Berkeley graduate holding a BA in English, and an MA from Cambridge in English and American literature. He had spent many years as an adult leader in Scouting programs, especially backpacking, when his own son and daughter were of age to be involved. He also greatly enjoyed classroom teaching at Livermore High School, where he specialized in journalism, Rhetoric (AP English Language and Composition), and other English classes. After retiring in 2018, he took up part time teaching at Summit Tutoring Center largely because he missed the interaction with the students and staff.

Mrs. Rothfuss has taught AP Statistics and AP Calculus in the Fremont school district for over 20 years. She has intimate knowledge and experience regarding most levels of high-school level math and as a former AP Reader, she is well-versed in AP test question formatting. 

Mr. Rajeev graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Astrophysics and has been teaching at STC for 3 years. He specializes in teaching Mathematics (Algebra 2 up to AP Calculus BC), Physics (Physics up to AP Physics C), and also SAT Math. A popular instructor among our students, making sure to answer their questions and solve any issues they might have.

Mr. Hui graduated from UC Davis with a major in psychology and has been teaching at STC for over 5 years. He specializes in teaching middle-school math and English of various grades, up to and including SAT Critical Reading, Writing, and Essay, and the comparable ACT English sections. 

Mr. Martin graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a BS in Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology. He specializes in teaching biology topics at all levels, and he is also working in a UCSF lab that investigates the molecular mechanisms governing inflammation in various tissue types.

Mrs. Walker has been teaching at middle schools and high schools in the Livermore area since 2003. She has a BA in Economics from UCSD and an AS in Business Administration from Mesa College, and has a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Economics and can teach math and business. She has plenty of  experience teaching math from the middle school level to the high school level. 

Mr. Louis has a degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Florida. He is an engineer by trade and has been teaching EE courses at Northwestern Poly University (NPU) in Fremont, CA since 2000. At STC, he specializes in high school math, including Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and SAT II math. 

Mr. Bedi is a graduate from UC Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. He has experience teaching students from the San Ramon, Pleasanton, and Dublin school districts, focusing on their school Biology course, the AP Biology exam, as well as the SAT 2 Biology exam. As an expert on almost any school-Biology topic, Mr. Bedi has established a reputation as one of the most effective Biology teachers STC has ever had.

Mr. Duran is STC’s double-duty lobby staff and English teacher. With a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing from Saint Mary’s College of California, he leads our high-school level English courses to greater heights. Always with an infectious smile and a positive attitude.
